The story begins in 1968 on Alain Vagh's arrival in Salernes where he meets, falls in love with, then marries Jacotte, the daughter of a local ceramist. Together, they decide to take over the family factory, created in 1840, whose only remaining product was floor tiles.

Alain Vagh is from an artistic family and is quick to learn the floor tile and enamelling trade. Wanting to go further, he soon becomes an expert in colour as well...
Things take a decisive turn following an incident with the wood-burning stove in 1980: Alain Vagh takes advantage of this opportunity to bring in a gas oven for firing terracotta and an electric oven for enamels.
His bold pieces are proof of his passion for colours. Alain Vagh puts his heart and soul into searching for better pigments and optimum firing techniques in order to bring out the best tones in an object. Indeed, his golden rule is never to be afraid of accepting unusual customer requests and is constantly on the look out for innovation.
He is a genius with his hands and is always inventing and testing new enamelling techniques, new shapes and shades in colour. Thanks to these findings and his amazing imagination, he designs and creates all kinds of ceramic pieces, from concert pianos to seating fit for a star, Vespas and boats, as well as cowboy boots or simple spherical ashtrays... Whilst remaining loyal to traditional terracotta, Alain Vagh also adds a few original creations to his collection, such as those small paving blocks, funny trapezoids twisting and turning into sun shapes, and those fun and colourful embossed cloisonné tiles.

His talent has grown over the years along with his encounters: Max Ernst, Tobas and his friends from the Ecole de Nice, as well as Fred Sourdive and J. A. Perrier, the wise men of the ceramic world. He has also built up relations of trust with decorators and architects such as Albert Caviezel, who helped him through important projects in Switzerland, the United States, Japan and Canada.
