Set up in 1968, the Carrelages Maurin workshop was one of the smallest in Salernes. It has remained so thanks to Carole Maurin and her husband, Philippe Laffineur, who decided to work as a team when they took over the family company.

Their premises are set up in such a way that the showrooms, workshops, and their very own home blend seamlessly into one. The friendly atmosphere makes you feel truly at home here; rows of objects, some finished, some still in the process of drying, line the walls leading to the kitchen...
This couple's passion for this trade means they are in a constant state of creation, both for their own pleasure and due to customer requests. Indeed Carrelages Maurin only deals in made-to-measure orders, which can be seen not only in the large choice of tile dimensions but also in the shapes, colours, and materials. They like to experiment with "mixed-clay", a blend of lighter raw materials also known as "surprise clay".
Chosen colours are always very bright, brilliant, and strong; decorations are naïve and customised, and the marked style is far from academic.

They have a strong sense of the rustic quality of the tiles, mostly in their old-fashioned embossed tiles, giving the collections a crafts feel, which is popular with the public. These tend to hear of the company through word of mouth and once they are hooked, return regularly thereafter.

Carrelages Maurin is permanently attentive to quality of its products, and listens carefully to demand, in order to offer solutions, which are the most adapted to customer requests.
