Carrelages Pierre Boutal is first and foremost a family business. The company was set up in 1840 when Pierre Blanc, Pierre Boutal’s great-grandfather, returned from Uruguay and bought up four ceramic factories in Salernes.
In 1957, a young Pierre Boutal takes up the torch and launches into enamelled tile production. He learns all of the technique used by master ceramists, and serves an apprenticeship in Vallauris in the art of enamelling. Back in Salernes, he puts all of this expertise to good use in his rapidly expanding company, and finds himself at the helm of an enormous site at Port-Grimaud in the second half of the 1960s.

The company now boasts high-performance manufacturing tools: it is now more than ever rooted in modernity. It manufactures nearly 70,000 m² of tiles per year and employs 48 people.
Pierre Boutal is never at a loss for ideas and is always searching for new techniques, bringing his creations up-to-date whilst developing his manufacturing procedures. This will to move and adapt to current demands is a company guideline and defining these trends is a priority. Indeed, the product range takes into account tastes according to age and nationality.

Carrelages Pierre Boutal has specialised in embossing for the past 25 years and is currently working on an imprint technique, with the help of a resin mould.

The pure lines of the new embossed collections "arum", "bamboo" and "galaxy" come in a variety of colours.
